APPLICATION INFORMATION
APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

17 years of age to apply - 18 years of age at time of selection and indenture.*

A complete application. Applications are accepted year round, incomplete will be returned for completion.

Evidence of successful completion of one full year of algebra with a passing grade, or one post high school algebra course with a passing grade. **

High school graduate or have a GED, or in lieu of a high school diploma, or have a two-year Associate Degree or higher.

Provide an official transcript for high school (year or years completed) and post high school education and training. All GED records must be submitted, if applicable.

Possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.

You must live within the Geographical Area of Local #81 (shown on the website) in order to apply.

You must provide $20.00 Application Fee at time of application Check or Money Order paid to "Electrical Educational Fund" , cash is not accepted.
Your application number will be assigned when we receive the application. This is for in house usage.
* Applications from high school seniors are accepted but completing the application process will be contingent on graduating and providing a copy of your diploma and high school transcripts.
** In lieu of one full year of algebra with a passing grade, TECH MATH through The Electrical Training Alliance is accepted.

INTERVIEW & SELECTION PROCESS
Once the necessary score is achieved, applicants are eligible for an interview with our committee.( A mandatory pre-interview is held before the committee interview to provide a overview of our program and answer frequently asked questions.) Interviews for the incoming class ( September ) are usually held in late winter / early spring. Applicants are scored, ranked after the interview and placed on a one- year list in. A class is chosen from the list starting from the highest ranked applicant. Class size is determined by industry demand. Applicants remain active for one year in which they can possibly be called for work or the apprenticeship at any time. All applicants will be notified by mail of their standings. This process may take up to 6 months.
Applicants that are selected for apprenticeship must pass a post-offer physical and drug test and attend all mandatory orientations.
